Workflows feel like SaaS Security Training Magic
September 14, 2022
We’re finalizing beta testing of Workflows this week. Workflows are event-driven training:
A user 🙂 does event X that triggers 🏹 action Y.
X and Y can be virtually anything. The flexibility of Workflows is in the if-this-then-that (IFTTT) functionality. We built a visual builder to make it simple to add events and customize actions. Right now, triggered actions for Workflows occur in Slack.
Workflows continue our path towards delivering continuous, engaging, effective training in the context of modern work. Workflows extend the Haekka platform to new applications, new flows of work, and new opportunities for user engagement.
Workflows work well alongside current security awareness training platforms like KnowBe4, Proofpoint, and Mimecast. We integrate to ensure a single source of truth for training data.
For end users, the best way to describe the experience of Workflows is that it feels like magic. We’ve heard this from several beta users and we felt the same way when we were internally testing early versions of Workflows.
For now, the focus of Workflows is on security training and tracking security-relevant events in SaaS apps. Security training, or security awareness training, in the flow of work is something that is missing from SaaS apps. Many SaaS users don’t get any training at all on how to use SaaS apps. Security training on SaaS apps is basically non-existent.
But, realistically, taking a security course on a SaaS app like Google Drive or Slack or Github or Salesforce is not going to be effective as users haven’t been using those apps and the training is delivered outside the context of the app and the work.
To solve this problem, Workflows trigger security training and messages when employees do certain things in SaaS apps - share files, change permissions, etc. The training is hyper-contextual. And it’s real-time.
The real-time nature of Workflows delivered to Slack feels magical. Imagine you change permissions on a Google Drive file and then instantly get a message in Slack about Drive permissions and best practices. The message is short, takes less than 10 seconds to read, and you can snooze future messages on this event (changing file permissions in Drive) - all in Slack!
Another reason we’re excited about Workflows is that they add a user security layer to the SaaS apps you already use. This layer is missing today.
Based on user events in SaaS apps, Workflows can:
Once setup, all of the above run in the background through Haekka integrations with your SaaS apps.
